Coleman was raised in the Lancashire town of Blackpool. Coleman attended Arnold School in Blackpool where she was the head girl. She also received straight As on her A-levels. When discussing her character from Emmerdale Coleman expressed regret over not attending a university. When she was at school, Coleman was a member of a theatre company called In Yer Space with whom she was a part of the Edinburgh Festival in the play Crystal Clear. An award was presented to her for her performance, while the play received an enthusiastic reception. Coleman was chosen for the Emmerdale part of Jasmine Thomas after auditioning with Drama schools. In 2007 Coleman was nominated for two awards. In 2007, the British Soap Awards nominated her as the best newcomer. At the National Television Awards, she was also nominated as the most popular newcomer. In 2009, she received nominations in two categories which included Best Actress-Sexiest Women and Best Dramatic Performance. Coleman received the TV Choice Awards nomination for Best Actress. Steven Moffat announced at a Doctor Who press conference on 21 March that Coleman was the replacement for Karen Gillan as the companion of the Doctor since Arthur Darvill left the series, would be playing the role alongside Matt Smith. Moffat selected her because of how well she could work alongside Smith as well as the fact that she spoke faster than him. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She has been active in the field of film since 1987. Her most popular role was on television. Eva's TV roles on"Dr. Maria Santos, in All My Children, and detective Natalia Boa Vista in CSI Miami are notable. The actress was nominated two "Daytime Emmys" in the first role, and she also had a chance explore the musical side of her. Eva is a businesswoman, and also an actor. She is a thrice-married woman with a daughter by her second spouse.
