Coleman was born in Blackpool Lancashire. She was a student at the Arnold School in Blackpool where she was head girl and was awarded straight As for her A-levels. When discussing her character from Emmerdale Coleman confessed her regret of not attending a university. Coleman was a part of a theatre company, In Yer Space while during her time at university. She performed with them in the Edinburgh Festival for the play Crystal Clear. Her performance was rewarded with a prestigious award, and the production received praise from the audience. Coleman was given the part of Jasmine Thomas at Emmerdale while studying at drama schools in 2005. Coleman got two nominations in 2007. She was awarded the Best Newcomer of the British Soap Awards and Most Popular Newcomer at the National Television Awards. In 2009 she won nominations in two areas: Best Actress and Sexiest Female. Coleman got a nomination in the category of Best Actress from the TV Choice Awards. Steven Moffat, the producer of Doctor Who confirmed in a 21st March 2012 press conference that Coleman will portray Matt Smith's character following Karen Gillan left. Moffat has chosen her for the role as she was the most effective with Smith and spoke faster than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. Eva's TV roles on Dr. Maria Santos, in All My Children, and detective Natalia Boa Vista in CSI Miami make an impact. The former got her two nominations to the 'Daytime Emmy.
