Tina and Amanda
Tina Louise is a popular American writer, singer and actress best known for her portrayal of Ginger Grant in the 1960s television show Gilligan's Island. She began acting as a stage performer in the 1950s and began with Two's Company a musical by Bettle Davis. Thereafter she acted in numerous Broadway productions before making it big on the national theatre scene with Li'l Abner's in the year 1957. She also released her first music album, It's Time For Tina during the same year. Louise's first foray in Hollywood was when she played Griselda as Griselda in the film God's Small Acre, which was a 1958 film. It received wide acclaim. Louise won the Golden Globe Award for the New Star of the year category. She enrolled in Actors Studio, New York during that time, becoming Lee Strasberg's teacher. In 1964, she won her second notable role, when CBS signed her to portray Ginger Grant. Louise did not stop juggling her work from Broadway TV and Hollywood, portraying more somber roles as opposed to the image of an glamor girl. Amanda Tapping..........................Amanda Tapping is best known for her acting roles as Samantha Carter in the series Stargate. She also appeared on the show as Helen Magnus in Sanctuary although during the last couple of years she also has made her mark by being a successful and acclaimed director in numerous well-known TV shows such as Supernatural as well as The 100. The family that she was raised with moved away from Essex to Toronto which is where she spent her growing up and in adolescence. In 1997 after being selected to play Samantha Carter she settled down in Vancouver and has resided in the city ever since.
