Ali MacGraw (Elizabeth Alice MacGraw) is a American animal rights advocate, writer also a model, actor and author. The actress has won praise for her roles in films such as Love Story (from 1970), Goodbye Columbus, (1969), and The Getaway, (1972). The Getaway was released in 1972. New York, she was born and brought up in an creative family. The first job she had was a photo assistant. She then moved on to modelling and acting. Her first two movies her name was acknowledged as a winner of an award called the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Young Actress. MacGraw's movie Love Story proved a major hit and fetched her worldwide notoriety, as well as the Academy Award' nomination and an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe award. After only three movies, she was voted the Top female box-office debut in the world. In 1972 her hand-footprints and autograph were engraved at the Grauman's Chinese Theater. Alongside The Getaway Convoy Players she played a part in the tv miniseries The Winds of War. Moving Pictures, a 1991 autobiography, of hers was released.
